You’ll have the evening free to relax at your accommodation or ask your guide to help book a local dinner spot. You also have the option to join a traditional South African braai (BBQ) with dishes like ostrich kebabs (sosaties) and potbrood (bread cooked over fire), shared around a fire under the Karoo stars. Guided Tour of the Cango Caves: Next, travel into the nearby Swartberg foothills to explore the legendary Cango Caves, one of South Africa’s most impressive natural landmarks. Join your guide for a tour through towering chambers and ancient limestone formations. Choose the easy-paced Heritage Tour or, if available, the more physical Adventure Tour, which involves crawling through narrow tunnels and rock passages. If you’re feeling brave, you can take the plunge and experience a moment of pure free fall before bouncing back with unforgettable views of the gorge below. Even if you don’t jump, the atmosphere, views, and energy of the site are thrilling to witness. Optional Activity: Waterfall Zipline Adventure. For a different kind of thrill, you can choose a zipline tour through the Tsitsikamma forest. Glide through a series of platforms above dramatic ravines and waterfalls. The zipline course includes several slides, with the longest reaching over 200 meters, offering a scenic ride through tree canopies and gorges.

It’s a great place to unwind after a day of adventure. You can take a sunset walk along the beach or enjoy dinner at a rustic local restaurant. Alternatively, if you’re staying in nearby Wilderness, ask your guide for recommendations on where to enjoy a more intimate meal in town. Overnight in Sedgefield. Today’s drive winds through lush forests and seaside towns that showcase the natural beauty of the southern coastline. This is your last chance to soak up the views of mountains, rivers, and the Indian Ocean on one side it’s a route well-loved by road trippers for a reason.
Optional Stop: Safari at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve On the way back, there’s an option to join a 4x4 game drive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, located just outside the coastal town of Mossel Bay. This reserve offers a classic safari experience in open vehicles, with the chance to spot animals like giraffe, rhino, zebra, antelope, and more. Whether you choose to join the safari or relax at a coastal café in Mossel Bay, the morning gives you a final taste of the wild and beautiful Garden Route region.
Drive the Final Stretch to the Cape town city Center. From Mossel Bay, continue inland through rolling farmland and mountain passes as you make your way back toward the Western Cape. It’s a quiet and scenic route — perfect for reflecting on the week’s adventures. Arrive back in Cape Town or Stellenbosch in the evening, typically between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, depending on traffic and your drop-off location.
