We leave the city behind and follow the coastal Clarence Drive. It’s not just a drive, it’s one of the most scenic routes in the country, winding between dramatic mountains and the open sea.
We stop at Stony Point Nature Reserve, one of the best places to see African Penguins up close, without the crowds. The boardwalk takes you right through their natural habitat.
Arrive in Hermanus, a laid back seaside town famous for Southern Right Whales (in season – July to November). You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy lunch at a sea-facing café, browse local craft shops, or take a relaxed walk along the Cliff Path for possible whale sightings.
Reach the legendary Cape Agulhas, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Explore the iconic lighthouse and take a photo at the official southernmost point of Africa. Optional: Lunch at a local restaurant in Agulhas (own cost).
