This castle was the grounds for some of Japan's most famous samurai and ruled over a large part of central Japan during the Sengoku Period of Japanese history. In the Odawara Station inside the East exit, there is the Tourist Information Center next to New Days convenience store. This is where the tour will start.

In the castle we will guide you through the museum to give more in depth stories and color to the history of the area. Odawara Castle was the place for many famous conflicts and was visited by some of Japan's most prominent historical figures.

This shrine on the castle grounds commemorates one of Japan's most famous scholars and government officials. We will stop by to learn about the shrine itself and the man it is dedicated to. His statue is found at almost every elementary school in Japan.
