Designated as a UNESCO site in 2020, the Hantan River area has been recognized for its diverse geological environment and ecosystem. In winter, when the river freezes, you can walk on the river.
Soyisan is a modest mountain. However, since Cheorwon is mostly broad plains, once you take the monorail to the top, you can view the DMZ with crisp air. The area recreates Cheorwon’s cityscape from the 1930s, making It feels like taking a time machine to travel back in time.
North Korea's Labor Headquarters, also known as Nodongdangsa, was built by North Korea in 1946, a year after the end of Japanese colonization. During the Korean War, all the buildings in the area were destroyed except for this one. It is now a registered cultural heritage site.

Cheorwon Korean Workers' Party Headquarters was constructed in 1946. Used as the headquarters of the Labor Party until the break of the Korean War on June 25, it is now a tourist attraction that still holds onto the vestiges of the Korean War.Cheorwon Korean Workers' Party Headquarters is under the control of Cheorwon-gun Office as part of the Security Tour Course. Hundreds of thousands of people visit this tourist destination every year.
Goseokjeong Pavilion, which was designated as a national tourist site in 1977, is one of the nine scenic spots of Cheorwon located in the middle of the Hantangang River. It is the only basalt eruption site in South Korea, making it especially unique as a massive 10-meter rock rises in the center of the river.
Hantangang Water Roads is a course where you can enjoy trekking. It is built by setting a floating bridge afloat in the 500-meter section of Songdaeso on Cheorwon’s Hantangang River.
