Begin your journey in Cape Town, driving to Oudtshoorn on the R62 Wine Route to visit Cango Caves. Continue to Botlierskop Game Reserve for a wonderful wildlife experience. Continue to Knysna, where you can explore the charming waterfront and visit the Knysna Heads. Next, head to Plettenberg Bay for beach relaxation and a hike in Robberg Nature Reserve. Conclude your tour with a scenic drive back to Cape Town, stopping in Cape Agulhas, Africa’s southern most tip and a visit to Hermanus for whale watching, in season, as well as African Penguins in Betty’s Bay and wine tasting in Benguela Cove wine Estate. We pick up travelers from all over Cape town, 50km radius
Depart from Cape Town at 8am and travel on N1 to the R62 Wine Route. Continue from Worcester to Robertson to Montagu until we reach Oudtshoorn on the R62 Wine Route. This is the world's longest wine route.
We go on a tour of Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn. An easy walk through the first six largest and most spectacular halls and continuing through to the "African Drum room". This tour commences with information on the real discoverers and inhabitants of the cave and then winds its way through the rest of the Caves’ cultural and historical heritage. A comfortable walk through the most majestic of the cave chambers. Experienced and knowledgeable guides will accompany you on this journey of discovery and knowledge.
We go on a 4x4 Game Drive at Botlierskop Game Reserve. Botlierskop is malaria free and home to free roaming wildlife including lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, hippo and more.
From Botlierskop Game Reserve we stop over at Wilderness for a lunch break. Thereafter we proceed to Knysna for the night.
At Robberg Nature Reserve we do a 2 to 3 hour hiking. Robberg, situated 8km south of Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route, is not only a nature reserve, but also a World Heritage Site. Rocks from this region date back 120 million years. Visitors can expect inspiring landscapes, exciting dolphin and whale sightings in season, and to be accompanied on their walks or hikes by a variety of bird species and the occasional seal.
From Robberg Nature Reserve we proceed to Plettenberg Bay for a brief tour. We stop at the beach in Plettenberg Bay for lunch
From Plett we proceed to Bloukrans Bridge for the world's highest bungy jump at 216 metres. This is an optional extra cost of $50-00
From Bloukrans Bridge we head to Knysna Heads. Gosh the views are stunning. And you also gain an appreciation of the power of nature with the waves crashing in and around the rocks. Many opportunities for excellent photo memories here.
We then proceed to Knysna Quays Waterfront - to watch the boats come in and leave, to sample some restaurants, for the fine wines and dining experiences.
A brief stop in Swellendam and brief tour of the town
We then proceed to Cape Agulhas, southern most tip of Africa where the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic Ocean. We visit and tour the iconic points where the oceans meet.
Depart from Cape Agulhas in the afternoon and head to Hermanus for the night
Tour of Hermanus, Cliff Path area. Watch whales in season. Hermanus is known as one of the best places in the world for land-based whale watching. Southern right whales visit the town's shores from June to December each year, and visitors can see these majestic creatures from the cliffs and beaches in and around the town.
From Hermanus we proceed to Benguela Cove Wine Estate for a world class wine tasting experience of 5 different wines.
From Benguela Cove Wine estate we proceed to Betty's Bay. This is where we see the endangered African Penguins.
From Betty's Bay we travel on the very beautiful Whale Coast Route as we make our way back to Cape Town arriving in late afternoon to end the 5 day tour.
