Are you visiting Cape Town for a limited time, but still want to get a Big 5 Safari experience and a taste of the Garden Route? Then this 2 Day Tour is the one for you!
This tour departs on a Saturday morning and offers you the experience of searching for the Big 5, gives you the opportunity to come face to truck with an African Elephant before heading to the beautiful coastal town of Sedgefield which is entirely surrounded by lakes and sand dunes covered in fynbos. You will also have the opportunity to visit the only show cave in Africa to see the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations OR see a range of endangered species before heading back into the city on Sunday afternoon. The tour futher includes one nights' of accommodation, transport, breakfast and dinner.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We can pick-up from any hotel, guesthouse, backpackers or street address within 10km radius of Cape Town City Centre. We will confirm your exact pick-up time with you the day before your trip. Pick-up times normally vary between ±5 - 6am, sometimes earlier depending on the number of guests and pick-up locations that are on tour.
On the last day of the tour we will drop you off back at your original pick-up point in Cape Town unless otherwise requested. There are no set/guaranteed drop-off times. Drop off times can range from late afternoon to evening and normally vary between ±5 - 8pm.
Group/Scheduled tours have no set end time on the last day of the tour so please do not make any scheduled arrangements (especially flights) for the first or last day of the tour, as traffic and weather can delay the approximate pick-up and drop-off times.

1Cape Town Central
Day 1's route & travel time: Sedgefield to Cape Town ± 480km (± 6hrs). We leave the mother city behind and head east along the N2 past Swellendam, the third oldest town in South Africa to a Private Game Reserve on the edge of the Garden Route.

2Garden Route
Our first adventure is a safari game drive where we search for lions, cheetah, hippo, elephants, buffalo and many more wild animals, from the back of an open 4x4 vehicle. Your experienced game ranger will share their fast knowledge of the area and local wildlife.

After lunch, we head further up along the Garden Route. We have some options available for the rest of the day. We can either make our way to another Private Game Reserve, Indalu, where you will have the opportunity to join an optional Elephant viewing activity. Or we head on through to the beautiful town of Wilderness, lying in the foothills of the Outeniqua Mountains in a region of incomparable beauty. Here you have the option to either: 1) Experience a guided fun forest and bush quad bike ride, twisting through trees and around bends, OR 2) Discover the natural beauty of Kaaimans by enjoying a kayak trip and visit a waterfall.

We end the day at our accommodation in the small coastal town of Sedgefield, renowned for its diverse and picturesque landscapes, where you have time to sit back, relax and enjoy the African sunset. 5Oudtshoorn
Day 2's route & travel time: Sedgefield to Cape Town ± 600km (± 7hrs). This morning we head over the Outeniqua Mountains to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world, situated in the semi-desert Klein Karoo.

6Cango Caves
We visit the Cango Caves to go on either their Adventure or Standard Tour through some very large chambers with spectacular limestone formations that are millions of years old. If you chose the Adventure Tour be prepared to start squeezing through some very tight spaces.

7Cape Town Central
We begin our journey back to Cape Town along the famous Route 62, taking in the beauty of the mountains, passes and the Karoo plains. We will drop you off back at your original pick up point in Cape Town unless otherwise requested. There are no set/guaranteed drop-off times. Drop-off times can range from late afternoon to early evening and can vary between ±5 - 8pm.
