Martvili Canyon - Prometheus Cave - Okatse Canyon

Martvili Canyon
Excursion to the Martvili Canyon, Dadiani Historical Park with amazing views. In the Martvili canyon, in good weather, you can go boating and admire the views from the canyon. Visitor Centre of Martvili Canyon is located in the village Inchkhuri. 700 meters circular hiking trail starts from the visitors' centre and passes through Dadiani's historic walkway. There are 2 bridges, 3 viewing platforms, and 30-step historic staircase that is built from limestone staircase. Here you have the opportunity to take a trip by boat, 300 meters (one way) section of Abasha and enjoy the beautiful views of canyon. Here you have a great chance to enjoy diving and explore beautiful places under the water. Canyon welcomes visitors during week-end as well, thus put hiking clothes into the backpack and enjoy the vacations in Western Georgia.

Prometheus Cave
After the Martvili canyon, we will travel to Prometheus Rock, which is full of stalactites and stalagmites. Prometheus Cave may regard as the visit card of Georgia. The magic cave is full with stunning curtains of stalactites and stalagmites. While visiting, once again it will convince you about existence of the fairy world. Prometheus Cave is located in Tskaltubo municipality, village Kumistavi. River. There are 22 halls found, where just 6 halls are open for tourists. It is possible to walk through the length of 1420 meters in the cave's territory visit the halls and enjoy boat tour by walking the river. Discover real masterpieces of nature - stalactites and stalagmites at Prometheus Cave, which are the most beautiful forms created by nature. While visiting the cave, hanging waterfalls are waiting for you.

Later we will continue our trip to Okatce Canyon. This is a narrow bridge - a path leading over the canyon. You can walk a few kilometers to the beginning of the bridge, or you can travel by 4x4 jeeps in the canyon park (up to 4 people cost about 30 euros). We have a surprise for extreme lovers. Enjoy first hanging trail called Okatse Canyon and have a feeling as if you are walking 2-3 hours directly in the sky. The pedestrian trail passes through Dadiani historic forests, thus enjoy hiking and 780 meters length hanging trail. The last destination is a panoramic view, where visitors have chance to take photos by smart camera installed on the area. Okatse Canyon located in the village of Gordi, Khoni municipality is the best destination for week-end. Travel at Okatse Canyon and make your vacations more special.

Nikortsminda - domed temple in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region, in the village of the same name Nikortsminda in Ambrolauri municipality. After the creation of the Racha Saeristavo at the end of the 10th century, by the order of Bagrat III, the first king of united feudal Georgia, the foundation was laid for the construction of a large temple named after St. Nicholas, which became the cultural center of this Saeristavo. Since October 24, 2007, Nikortsminda Monastery has been included in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Rehabilitation work in 2012 uncovered previously unknown 16th-century frescoes in the soot-covered gates: images of temple founders, local feudal lords, and Archangel Michael. One of the fresco inscriptions mentions the painter of the temple, someone Javakhadze. Two surnames, Javakhadzes and Tsulukidzes, are mentioned with the images of the founders.

Shaori Reservoir is one of the most attractive places in Racha. Heading to Racha, you cannot overpass the Reservoir which dazzles you with its landscape. Shaori Reservoir is not a very popular tourist destination; however, on the plus side, it makes the place more interesting. People who love to wander frequently search for places which are not overcrowded with visitors and tourists and, at the same time, where they can spend a pleasant weekend in nature. Located in Ambrolauri Municipality at the altitude of 1100-1200 meters, Shaori Reservoir is the biggest in Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti region. The Reservoir is inside a structural basin formed by the damming of Shaori River and surrounded by mixed deciduous trees. There had been two lakes in this basin – Kharistvali and Dzrikhistvali, which are now covered with the reservoir waters. The length of Shaori Lake is 7.1km, greatest width – 2.7km and maximum depth – 14.5 meters.

Racha - Lechchumi - Sairme pillars - Gvirishi Waterfall

The region of Lechkhumi is rich with remarkable natural and historical monuments. Among them is one of the natural monuments, rocky massif- Sairme Pillars. On the territory of Sairme deserts there is organized a route, called “Sairme Pillars”, which is about 3 km long. The road binds up in the forest from the mountain pass, where you can drive a 4X4 car for about 1 km. later, so you will have to go on by foot, as the road becomes very narrow, and continues walking up and up, in the uphill of the forest. After passing by that uphill, the road leads you on the peak of the mountain. Here you will come across the ruins of the Middle Age Virgin Mary’s Church. After walking several kilometers away from the ruins, the pass finishes on the peak of the mountain, 680 kilometers away from the sea level. And in front of you, there are picturesque views and wonderful sights of Sairme Pillars.

Gvirishi waterfall in Lechkhumi There are lots of beautiful things in Georgia. In Racha-Lechkhumi region there is Gvirishi waterfall. It was named after village Kveda Gvirishi (Lower Gvirishi). Water flows from mountain top and falls in river Lajanuri (named after Lajana village). River Lajanuri ends up in river Rioni.

Free day rest in Racha

Free day for rest in Racha. We travel to a mountain stream for swimming, walk around the area visiting local cows, sheep, puppies, and have a picnic in nature. Rafting is possible - swimming for 2.5 - 3 hours. With stops in beautiful places, for photos and rest - 60 eur per person if at least 4 people swim, 100 eur per person if 2 people swim.

Breakfast, trip to the seaside. Overnight in Batumi. Batumi, a Black Sea resort and port city, is the capital of the Georgian republic of Adjara. Batumi Boulevard encompasses a waterfront promenade with a park and beach. The 130m-high Alphabetic Tower, adorned with Georgian script, has a seaside observation deck. The old town district is lined with renovated 19th-century buildings. North of the city, Batumi Botanical Garden showcases flora from around the world.
