    See the largest private car collection in Australasia at this world-class museum. The museum houses more than 450 rare and treasured vehicles of all descriptions. Discover the 1934 Cadillac that was once owned by American actress Marlene Dietrich. Locate the four-tonne, 1950 “gangster special” Cadillac complete with genuine bullet holes, owned by gangster Mickey Cohen. Rounding out the notable collection is a Back To The Future DeLorean. Visit the cafe afterwards for morning refreshments.

    The Reserve preserves coastal lowland swamp forest and provides a haven for native birds. Experience the Native Birds Close Encounter Tour. During this interactive Ranger guided tour, learn all about iconic native birds such as Kākā, Kakariki, Kea by getting up close to provide them food and enrichment. The wetlands of Ngā Manu are home to both short-fin eels and endangered long-fin eels. They are fed daily and have grown accustomed to gathering en-masse in a pond where you can get a close look or even help feed them.

    A large regional park covering 650 hectares of sand dunes and wetlands, the park is rich in Maori and Settlers history. Also during World War II, the park was the location of two United States Army and Marines bases, Camp MacKay and Camp Russell.
