Your guide will park near Gearings Point located at the waters edge where he will tell you a bit about the Southern Right Whales. You will take a leisurely slow stroll and hopefully see some whales frolicking below.(Whales are in Hermanus between June and December) Beautiful artworks and sculptures created by locals adorn the pathway. You will be driven to a seaside path approximately 3 kilometres away in search of whales should any be 'sleeping late' at this whale watching point.
You will be driven back to the village to enjoy lunch at one of many restaurant options, from Seafood, Italian, Greek, Steak house, a variety of coffee shops serving light meals. After lunch you can explore the village on foot browsing boutiques and small art galleries, soaking up the energy of what it must be like to live like a local in this lovely laid back little village..
Ficks pool is seaside restaurant and bar nestled between rocks at the waters edge. Here you can enjoy a refreshment and take a few Instagram worthy snapshots. (If more time for wine tasting is preffered, this beautiful location can be skipped)

Here you can enjoy Pinot Noir, award winning Chardonannay and Sauvignon Blanc, Hannibal (Franco-Italian blend) as well as their straw wine produced from cool-climate Riesling.. Benguela Cove is a stylish, well-manicured estate located just outside Hermanus on the lagoons edge. Best known for producing olive oil, lavender & wine and their art gallery, carrying works from 'up n coming' as well as established artists. Here you can enjoy another tasting and order one of their delicious and popular cheese/chaucuteri platters.. (entrance is free, any wine tastings and snacks are for the guests account).
Drive through Kleinmond, a popular town for campers as it has three campsites and a rocky coastline favoured by anglers. We then drive through Bettys Bay, Pringle Bay, Rooi Els and onto Clarence Drive.
It was here in the early days that runaway slaves used to hide out in the caves risking it all knowing mountain leopards roamed the area. Today few leopards remain but baboons still roam freely.
Clarence Drive is a magnificent scenic coastal drive between Rooi Els and the naval town of Gordons bay, which nestles in the north-eastern crook of False bay. It meanders for 21 kilometres and is a feast for the eyes as you have the imposing Hottentot Holland mountains to your right and the turquoise blue coastline below to your left. The road is in great condition and is the perfect route to sit back, relax and unwind after an eventful day exploring..

Drive through Strand beach area, popular with retirees that make p most of the residents in the beachfront apartments. Here the sea is also relatively calm and well suited to swimming making it a popular family beach. Its at this point that you will make your way back onto the N2 back to the comfort of your hotel..
