We will explore the most important parts of Venice: the Rialto Bridge, its market, and St. Mark's Square. Along the way, we'll delve into how Venetians sourced drinkable water in the past, learn to identify the historical periods of buildings by admiring their magnificent facades, and discover where and how the Venetian nobility secretly enjoyed themselves in times gone by.
We'll navigate through the city's secondary streets to uncover one of its best-hidden treasures: the Contarini del Bovolo Palace, known for being hard to reach.
We'll share anecdotes and legends about some of the most eccentric individuals who lived in Venice, such as the famous Peggy Guggenheim and Giovanni Dario. We'll conclude the tour by visiting St. Mark's Square, where we'll encounter the Basilica of St. Mark and the Doge's Palace, delving into the curious details of the history of the Republic of Venice.
The meeting point is near the Rialto Bridge. To reach it, you can get off at the San Silvestro vaporetto stop, go straight, and turn right towards Campo San Silvestro. In the center, there is a well. I will be there waiting for you.
The tour ends in St. Mark's Square.
