    Cu Chi Tunnels

The Cu Chi Tunnels are a complex network of underground tunnels located in the Cu Chi District of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), Vietnam. These tunnels played a significant role during the Vietnam War, serving as a base of operations for the Viet Cong (VC) guerrilla fighters. The tunnels stretched for more than 250 kilometers (roughly 155 miles) and included living areas, storage facilities, weapon caches, hospitals, and even command centers. Today, the Cu Chi Tunnels are a popular tourist attraction, with sections of the tunnels open to visitors. Visitors can explore some of the tunnels, see booby traps used by the Viet Cong, and learn about the harsh conditions endured by the guerrilla fighters during the war. The site also features exhibits, artifacts, and displays that provide insight into the history and significance of the tunnels during the Vietnam War.
