A combined ticket is available for entry. Also nearby is the Matsumoto Seicho Memorial Museum, dedicated to one of Japan’s most famous authors.   Next, visit Miyajidake Shrine, a powerful spiritual site known for its peaceful atmosphere and impressive cultural landmarks. One of its most famous features is the “Path of Light” (Hikari no Michi)—a rare and breathtaking phenomenon where the sunset aligns perfectly with the shrine’s long stone approach, creating a glowing path of light leading toward the sea. It is one of Japan’s most photographed spiritual moments. Visitors can also admire Japan’s largest Shimenawa rope, a massive sacred straw rope weighing around 3 tons, symbolizing protection and connection with the divine. The shrine grounds also include the Eight Shrine Circuit, where multiple smaller shrines are dedicated to different blessings such as business success, safety, relationships, and academic achievement. With its spiritual energy, coastal views, and unique cultural traditions, Miyajidake Shrine offers a meaningful and memorable highlight of the Northern Kyushu journey.
