Vesuvius is one of the most studied and well-known volcanoes in the world. Symbol of Naples with its unique shape, it has a typical frusto-conical shape, with its highest peak reaching 1277 meters. The crater currently has a diameter of 450 meters and a depth of 300 meters. The eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.C., destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabiae, as well as several other settlements.From the parking lot you can access the path that leads to the top of the only still active volcano in continental Europe. Two hours at your disposal to reach the summit and walk around the crater at 1200 meters to admire the enchanting Bay of Naples from Capo Miseno to the tip of Campanella. Meet at the parking lot at the time indicated by the driver and return to Naples with arrival at the hotel around 13:00
