The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses

We’ll pick you up at your Xi’an hotel around 2 PM and head to the world-famous Terracotta Army for a 2 to 3-hour guided tour. Regarded as Xi’an’s most iconic landmark, this spectacular archaeological museum features three major excavation pits: Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3, plus a dedicated exhibition hall displaying exquisite bronze chariots and horses. Pit 1 is the largest of the three pits, lined with thousands of vivid terracotta warriors. Alongside Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum, the whole site is inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Your professional English guide will tell you rich historical tales of the Qin Dynasty and introduce the unique culture behind these lifelike clay figures.

    A Song of Everlasting Sorrow

You may choose to enjoy dinner on your own. Afterwards, we will transfer you to Huaqing Palace to watch the spectacular outdoor live performance Song of Everlasting Sorrow. Nestled at the foot of Lishan Mountain, Huaqing Palace lies merely 5 kilometers east of the Terracotta Army Museum. This scenic spot is well-known for the timeless romantic tragedy of Emperor Xuanzong and his beloved concubine Yang Yuhuan from the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The Song of Everlasting Sorrow show is extremely popular during peak travel seasons, especially July through October. We highly recommend booking your tour at least 7 days ahead of time. Tickets frequently sell out, which may result in unavailable seats for late reservations. Once the performance concludes, we will drive you back to your Xi’an hotel at approximately 10:00 PM.
