What to expect

Embark on a paddle board adventure exploring the mesmerizing Rainbow Springs. Known for its exceptional, clear sapphire water, you will immediately be drawn to the underwater world beneath your paddle. Eel-grass swaying in the current, along with an array of aquatic wildlife scurrying about in their natural environment. The river is home to a wide variety of waterbirds, as well as river otters, several turtle and fish species, a variety of birds including ospreys, hawks, bald eagles, and swallowtail kites, and we may even spot an alligator basking in the Florida sunshine along the way.

Rainbow River is very popular for swimming and snorkeling, and we most likely will even see scuba divers exploring below our paddle boards. Rainbow Springs is the fourth-largest spring in Florida, a first-magnitude spring, a registered natural landmark, an aquatic preserve, and an outstanding Florida waterway.

Rainbow River averages between 10 and 25 feet deep with a current of 2 mph. Indian Creek is a shallow creek averaging 1–3 feet deep, perfect for the little ones to enjoy and swim around.
