On this tour, we will provide you with enough time to explore the attractions and take a few breaks along the way for a proper Albanian experience. We will show you the most incredible hidden corners in each city. In this tour, you will visit Berat's castle (2400 years old)—the old center of the city and two neighborhoods. After Berat, we will visit Durres City, one of the largest amphitheaters in the Balkans, and have a walk through the pedestrian street looking towards the Adriatic Sea.
Explore Berat and its main attractions. Berat Castle is one of the biggest fortifications in Albania. Behind its walls, you’ll find a vast citadel complex of stone streets, houses, and Byzantine churches mixed in with ruin from various epochs. Key points of interest within Berat Castle include the 13th-century St.Mary of Blachernae Church, the Onufri National Iconographic Museum, the ruins of the Red Mosque, the 14th-century Holy Trinity Church, and the remnants of an old acropolis, including a subterranean water cistern. In the old city center, visit Mangalemi and Gorica neighborhoods, the Medieval Center, which in the present day consists of the King Mosque, the Halveti Tekke, and several monumental tombs.
As we finish at the castle, we will be in the old city center of Berat. You will have some explanations regarding the neighborhoods, like Mangalemi and Gorica. We will visit the New Bridge, where we will have the best photos with the Mangalemi neighborhood in the background. You will have some free time so you can take a walk and also have lunch in some good local restaurants. Departure to Tirana.
After Berat, it's time to visit Durres, home to the largest amphitheater in the Balkan Peninsula. Take a walk through Vollga promenade, see the Venetian Tower of Durres, and other attractions in the city.
