    Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you'll be driven to Lake Manyara National Park (journey time of approximately 2 hours), located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley. The alkaline soda of Lake Manyara, which covers 230 square kilometres, attracts pink flamingos and other birdlife. You’ll also see resident hippo pods at the lake. The park is known for its tree-climbing lions, large herds of elephant, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, warthog and impala, plus you may be lucky enough to spot leopards and hyenas. There’s also a huge primate population, including common monkey, vervet monkey and baboons. You can spot wildlife on a canoe safari on the lake. After game drive you will visit the Orphanage as well.

    Ndutu Serengeti National Park

    1 stop
  • 3

After breakfast you continue your journey on to the Serengeti. Enjoy your first game drives through the southern Serengeti and check in to your luxury safari camp by late afternoon. The park offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa and is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on Earth, the Great Migration. Every year, over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate north from Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya. The herds must brave the perilous Mara River, which runs through the Masai Mara Game Reserve on the Kenyan side and Serengeti National Park on the Tanzanian side. They face treacherous water currents and dangerous predators as they cross the river in search of greener pastures. With crocodiles lurking in the muddy waters and lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas patrolling the river banks, this is a particularly dangerous time to be a wildebeest or a zebra.
