With the help of a traditional cook, you will discover the unique flavors of traditional Oaxacan cuisine, while learning about our traditions and culture.
In this class you will make delicious memelitas with your own hands, from preparing the dough to making a delicious molcajete sauce to accompany them.

I will teach you recipes that you can easily repeat at home. We will cook in a traditional smoke kitchen, with utensils that have been used for generations in my family, you will discover our traditions and I will give you advice that will help you better understand and taste the dishes of Oaxacan cuisine.

When we prepare the mole, I will teach you how to select the best ingredients that have given Oaxacan mole worldwide fame and recognition.

Please let me know in advance if you have dietary restrictions so I can adjust the menu so you can fully enjoy the experience.

We will meet in front of the IAGO (Institute of Graphic Arts of Oaxaca) which is opposite the Church of Santo Domingo. There someone from our team will come by to transfer you to our kitchen located 15 minutes away.

What to expect

First we will have a delicious hot chocolate and then, let's cook! We will cook everything in beautiful clay pots as is traditionally done in Oaxaca.
With your help we will prepare a delicious breakfast, we will make sauces and tortillas, which you will make with your own hands and I will help you at every step.
After breakfast, we will cook one of the seven Oaxacan MOLES and, of course, we will also make a delicious dessert, you will love it!
I support local producers so the ingredients we will use will be fresh and organic, we will also harvest some of the ingredients from my own garden.
To accompany the meal we will prepare a drink with the MEZCAL that my family has been producing for several generations.
