The kanuku mountains is one of the least explored places on the surface of the planet. This isolated mountain chain raises out of the Rupununi Savannah and is a place full of myths and amazing experiences.

The trek to one of the highest peaks offers an amazing opportunity to gaze over one of South Americas last undisturbed wetlands and the challenge of reaching the top is both tough and rewarding.
One thing is sure, you will not regret spending a few days experiencing this amazing place.

Guest should be ready in front of Takatu hotel in central Lethem in front of main entrance on Barrack Retreate. Alternatively get in touch and guest can let us know if there is any other location that is better. We collect guest anywhere inside Lethem town.

What to expect

Join us on one of our thrilling trekking expeditions to one of the Kanuku Mountains' highest peaks. Our journey begins in a little village at the base of the mountains, and over the course of the following three days, we will camp in hammocks, hike to the peak to enjoy the beautiful view, and head out in search of incredible animals with local indigenous guides.
