Once our mini city tour is concluded we begin our tour along the south coast with our first stop being Margate. Margate is one of the major coastal resorts along the South coast. Here we make a brief stop over and take a short stroll to the beach.
From Margate, our tour continues along the south coast until we reach another very beautiful coastal resort, namely Port Edward. This is where we top over for lunch. With breathtaking views of the ocean, frolicking dolphins, the occasional visiting whale, a busy sea traffic lane in the back ground and lazy waves breaking onto a clean beach, Port Edward Holiday Resort is destined to make even the shortest visit, a memorable one.
From Port Edward we begin our tour of the Wild Coast as we travel inland passing Bizana and Lusikisiki. In this area we encounter a lot of traditional African villages.
The Wild Coast route takes us back to the coast again as we reach Port St Johns where we spend the night. Port St Johns is a small coastal town in South Africa offering true South African hospitality and rustic accommodation and nature adventures.
On day 2 we visit the beach nearby to Port St Johns after breakfast. Thereafter we proceed with the tour along the Wild Coast. Our journey takes us inland again driving past Umthatha en route to East London.
However, as part of our itinerary for day 2 we visit Silaka Nature Reserve near Port St Johns where we take a short hiking in the Nature Reserve.
The Wild Coast journey eventually takes us to East London where we spend the second night of our tour. East London is a city on the Indian Ocean, in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. It’s known for its beaches, such as Nahoon and Cove Rock.
We depart from East London after breakfast on day 3 and head off to Port Alfred. This really the beginning of the Garden Route. Port Alfred is one of the most beautiful coastal towns along the Garden Route with its sandy beaches. We stop over at Port Alfred and visit Kelly's Beach. We also have lunch in Port Alfred. After lunch we proceed to Port Elizabeth where we spend our 3rd night of the tour.
Port Elizabeth is on the Indian Ocean coast half-way between Cape Town and Durban, in the Eastern Cape. Port Elizabeth (PE) is not only home to stunning beaches, interesting museums and award-winning wildlife destinations, but also some of the friendliest people in the country. It’s no surprise to visitors that it’s called the “Friendly City”.
We depart from Port Elizabeth after breakfast on day 4. The route takes us via the Tsitsikama National Park area, an area with very good vegetation for all to see and enjoy.
Along the route in the Tsitsikama area lies the Bloukrans Bridge which offers the world's highest bunggy jump. This activity is an optional extra. The Bloukrans Bridge, at 216m, is the highest commercial bridge bungee jump in the world and attracts adventure seekers from all over the globe.
From the Bloukrans Bridge we proceed with our tour and travel to Plettenberg Bay which is a short distance away. Plettenberg Bay, or ‘Plett’ as it’s more commonly known, is a resort town through and through, with mountains, white sand and crystal-blue water making it one of the country’s top local tourist spots. The scenery to the east in particular is superb, with some of the best coast and indigenous forest in South Africa. On arrival at Plett you are free to visit the beaches and explore Plett as we spend the night here.
With so many things to see and do in Knysna it is one of the top holiday destinations in the Garden Route, South Africa. Families making memories, adventure seekers find their thrill with a variety of outdoor experiences. Discover the sandy beaches and forest trails, explore the area and rich cultural heritage, and experience what makes Knysna one of the not-to-be-missed locations in the Western Cape.
In Knysna we visit the Knysna Heads. The Knysna Heads is an absolute must do! The view is amazing and unforgettable. The Knysna Heads are a pair of sandstone cliffs that separate the Knysna Lagoon from the sea beyond.
The Waterfront Knysna Quays is a chilled out extension of Knysna. A scenic view of the harbor with quite a number of yachts make it such a beautiful scenery. There are a good number of restaurants and cafes. One can easily spend 3 to 4 hours here, have lunch, sip some wine, watch some boat cruises and enjoy the sunset.

It is known for the wide Santos Beach and the 19th-century Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, which offers bay views. We explore this town for about an hour before proceeding with our tour.
