    Hongcun Ancient Village

Hongcun Ancient Village, the ancient village of Anhui province formerly known as Huizhou, is a little ancient town with well-preserved Hui style architecture and a long history of over 700 years. Several scenes from the movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" were filmed on location in Hongcun Village. In 2000, Hongcun Village was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site coupled with Xidi Village, which is another ancient village. The village itself is in immaculate condition. It is still predominantly a residential area. As you wander through the village, you'll see locals farming in the surrounding fields, artists sketching at the edge of shimmering ponds, and people going about their daily life. It's a wonderfully tranquil place and it's very easy to get happily lost among the labyrinth of narrow streets.

After visiting Hongcun Ancient Village, we will head over to Mukeng Bamboo Sea in Yi County. Many tourists will come to visit Tachuan near Hongcun Village, but the bamboo forest will be skipped by some tourists. As a scenic spot suitable for outdoor hiking, Mukeng Bamboo Sea is undoubtedly a right place to go. If you have seen the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, you will be amazed that the scenes in the movie were exactly the same or even more beautiful as what you actually saw. You will have the opportunity to see local villagers busy picking bamboo shoots.
