Venice Carnival Mask Workshop & Casanova Prison Palace Experience

Step into one of Venice’s most fascinating historic settings and experience the city in a truly hands-on way.
Your experience takes place inside the Prison Palace, just steps from St. Mark’s Square. While you won’t be touring the prison itself, you’ll be immersed in its unique atmosphere as your host shares captivating stories about its past—including the legendary escape of Giacomo Casanova.
Then, it’s time to get creative.
You’ll join a hands-on Venetian mask workshop led by a skilled local artisan. After selecting your mask, you’ll decorate it using traditional techniques and a variety of paints and materials provided.
As you work, you’ll also learn about the history and symbolism of Venetian masks and their role in the city’s iconic Carnival celebrations.
There’s no experience required, just bring your creativity.

At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own hand-decorated Venetian mask, a unique souvenir and a lasting memory of your time in Venice.
