Day of the death Michoacán from Mexico City

17 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

We will live the tradition of the day of the dead in one of the most emblematic states in Mexico, as is the state of Michoacán that during the night of November 1st the inhabitants sail in small boats and canoes to the Island of Janitzio, where when they reach the pantheon they surround the graves with offerings, flowers, bread, fruits, symbols and memories to venerate and remind their beings that they are no longer on this earthly plane. We will live as families prepare for weeks before to receive their dead. We'll taste dead bread. We will see how the offerings are laid, the meaning of them, how the tombs of their dead are dressed, among many other things.
