You can also opt for a boat trip to Seal Island, visit the African Penguins at Boulders Beach, and explore the breathtaking Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Nature Reserve. This is one of the best and most convenient ways to experience the wonders of Cape Town in a single full-day private tour!
Our tour kicks off with a convenient pick-up from your accommodation in Cape Town at 8:00 AM (flexible timing available) for this all-inclusive private tour to Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope, and the Boulders Penguin Colony. We will start with a quick drive-by orientation of the city, highlighting key monuments and buildings in the city center.
Next, we will head to Bo-Kaap (Cape Malay Quarter) for a fantastic photo opportunity with its vibrant colored houses. Your tour guide will share insights about these historically significant homes. You'll also have the chance to taste traditional Cape Malay delicacies like samoosas and koeksusters, available for purchase from local informal vendors.
We will journey to the Table Mountain Cableway Station, where you'll board the cable car to ascend to the mountain's summit for exploration. Experience breathtaking views of Cape Town from the top of one of the Seven Wonders of Nature and one of South Africa's most iconic mountains.
Experience a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard, where majestic mountains rise on one side and the ocean glistens on the other. As we pass through Three Anchor Bay, Bantry Bay, and Clifton, we will make a stop in Camps Bay. Maiden's Cove is the perfect location to create unforgettable memories and capture stunning photos of the breathtaking views of the Twelve Apostles and Camps Bay beach. This cove is renowned as one of the best spots in Cape Town for panoramic photography, offering incredible vistas of the ocean, Camps Bay Beach, Table Mountain, Lion's Head, and the picturesque suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay. We refer to this as the ultimate "Kodak moment."
As we journey along the picturesque Atlantic Seaboard, we will pass through Llandudno, renowned for having some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa, before reaching Hout Bay. Upon arriving at Hout Bay harbor, you will have the option to embark on a 45-minute boat cruise to Seal Island to observe the seals up close or enjoy some shopping at the local market.
If you decide to take the optional boat trip to Seal Island, the duration will be 45 minutes, subject to favorable weather conditions. We recommend bringing a light sweater, as temperatures can drop while at sea. Please note that we will not disembark at Seal Island; instead, you'll remain on the boat to view the seals from a distance.
Leaving Hout Bay, we will drive along the stunning Chapman's Peak and make a stop at the viewpoint for breathtaking photo opportunities. You'll quickly understand why Chapman's Peak is renowned as one of the most scenic drives in the world.
Our coastal journey continues with an optional stop in Noordhoek, offering stunning views of Noordhoek and Long Beach below. Travelers can take the opportunity to savor some of the finest coffee roasted in Cape Town at Village Roast (at their own expense).
An optional stop for wine tasting at the picturesque Cape Point Vineyards will be available. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards and stunning ocean views, the cool sea breezes create a slow-growing season, resulting in a late harvest that produces a truly unique Sauvignon Blanc celebrated worldwide for its rich minerality, structure, and character. We highly recommend enjoying a sit-down lunch at their restaurant or a picnic lunch with a view of the man-made dam.
We will explore the Cape of Good Hope and capture the iconic photo with the Cape of Good Hope name board. During our visit, we’ll also take time to see the Dias and Vasco Da Gama monuments. Enjoy the stunning beaches along the way, along with a rich variety of flora and fauna that make this area truly special.
From the Cape of Good Hope, we will drive to Cape Point. Upon arrival, you'll have the option to either take a 15-minute hike or ride the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the Cape Point Lighthouse. Here, we will also explore Africa's south-westernmost point, known as Cape Point, where the chilly Benguela current from the Atlantic Ocean meets the warm Agulhas current of the Indian Ocean. If you're interested in enjoying a sit-down lunch, The Two Oceans Restaurant is a great option, provided it is open. Alternatively, there’s an informal eatery where you can grab a light takeaway lunch.
Our next destination is the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, where your guide will lead you to the viewing point for an up-close look at some of the 2,500 breeding pairs of African Penguins. You might even spot one or two of these charming birds strolling alongside you on the boardwalk.
On our return route, we will pass by Muizenberg, where you can admire the colorful beach huts. These charming huts serve as changing rooms and evoke the nostalgia of the "bathing machines" from the 1800s—cart-like structures wheeled to the water's edge, allowing ladies to change into their bathing costumes.
Drop off will be back at guests' accommodation in Cape Town at approximately 18:00 pm.
