    Explore the Ek Balam ruins, located in the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula, and be transported to a captivating world of ancient Maya heritage. The site boasts a striking array of meticulously preserved structures, most notably the towering Acropolis, which stands as a testament to Maya architectural ingenuity.     Valladolid, located approximately halfway between the Riviera Maya and the capital city of Merida, is a colonial Yucatecan city packed with historical, natural and cultural treasures. Visit the Cathedral of San Servacio, the first Spanish colonial church built in the area, the local markets of the town, and if time allows the Convent of San Bernardino Siena, the second largest Franciscan construction in the Yucatan Peninsula. Built in 1555 it remains one of the most beautiful of the surviving convents in the region.
