The township of Soweto and the Apartheid museum is a must visit if travelers wants to experience and enjoy the history, culture, traditions of the people of South Africa.     Mandela house is a world class museum which showcase the history of Nelson Mandela and his family. Visitors would experience how Nelson Mandela lived before he was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment and his stay at the house after he was released from Prison in 1990. The museum showcase how his wife Winnie Mandela survived during the Apartheid era while Mandela was in Prison.

The student uprising was against the Afrikaans language to be used as a medium of instructions in South African schools.
