1Pilanesberg National Park
We would depart Johannesburg or Pretoria very early in the morning at 6 am and drive for about 2 and half hours to Pilanesberg National Park which is located next to Sun city in the North west province of South Africa. On our arrival at the park, we would meet the local guide and participate on a 3 hours safari drive in the greater Pilanesberg National park. Pilanesberg National park covers 55.000 hectares and is surrounded by mountain which has been formed by a volcanic eruption million years ago. It is the fourth biggest park in South Africa and it is the home of the big five. Pilanesberg is located between two vegetation types which are dry Kalahari and the Lowveld vegetation which makes it a great habitat for many different types of animals.
