Today, you’ll start your day with an early morning game drive after a hearty breakfast. You’ll descend into the crater, home to nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. This crater boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on the planet, featuring a river, multiple swamps, and a soda lake that, from above, appears to emit steam, teeming with flamingos. There’s also a forest and expansive open plains. The massive bull elephants here are known for their exceptionally large tusks, a result of the rich mineral content in the volcanic soil and grasses. You can expect to see a rich variety of animals, such as giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, elands, warthogs, and, of course, elephants. The park's rich birdlife adds to the beauty of the surroundings. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot with a breathtaking view before continuing our game drive.
