Gileemalee Walawwa has history that leads back to 300 years and lies in a 25 acres land with coconut, rubber, tea and cinnanmon. This dense forest sanctuary to over 75 species of birds, making it the best place for birdwatching, Out of the 33 endemic birds in Sri Lanka, we have already identified 15 during our treks such as,

    - Arrive in Ratnapura and check in at the Gileemale Walawwa. - Enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan meal for Lunch. - After lunch join your bird-watching guide and conduct a bird-watching tour around the Walawwa. Gileemale Walawwa lies in the lush 25-acre Gileemale Estate which fosters traditional agricultural methods, and where Sabaragamuwa grow cinnamon, tab rubber, pick coconut and pluck tea.

    Rathganga bird watching expedition

    - With a packed breakfast today, we leave for Rathganga (a 15-minute drive from the Walawwa), for a bird-watching expedition. - Make a visit to the Rathganga Temple. - Enjoy your lunch at a scenic location. - On completion return back to the Walawwa for Dinner.
