Offered in: English and 1 more

Step into a real Roman home in Trastevere and cook fresh pasta and tiramisu with Ilaria and her family, sharing wine, stories, and the simple warmth of a home kitchen, just like friends.

Born and raised in Rome, Ilaria comes from three generations of chefs. She started cooking in her family’s restaurant when she was just a young girl, and later refined her skills by graduating from the Italian Chef Academy, a renowned Italian culinary school. Today, she loves sharing everything she has learned — the recipes, of course, but also the stories, the little tricks, and the gestures that have always been part of her life.

What to expect

If you truly want to understand what Italian cooking feels like, there’s no better place than a family kitchen. Ilaria and her family will welcome you into their home in Trastevere just as they would welcome a friend : with a smile, a glass of wine, and a table ready for kneading dough.

With a small group (maximum 8 people), the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

Together, you will prepare fresh pasta from scratch — fettuccine, ravioli, and orecchiette — and cook seasonal sauces using fresh ingredients - cacio e pepe, fresh tomato sauce with basil, and Norma sauce . Along the way, you’ll enjoy local appetizers, wine, and family anecdotes.

Once everything is ready, you’ll sit down together to enjoy the meal. To finish, you’ll make tiramisu using Ilaria’s cherished family recipe.

You’ll leave with new skills, recipes that work, and the memory of a warm afternoon spent in a Roman home.
