Upon arrival, meet your safari guide and head straight into the wilderness for your first game drive. Explore the vast savannah and riverine landscapes, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, and the rare African wild dog. Enjoy a bush lunch inside the park, offering a true safari immersion surrounded by untouched nature. Continue with an afternoon game drive before proceeding to your camp located inside the reserve. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Start the day with a morning game drive, exploring different habitats and tracking wildlife across the park’s diverse terrain. Return to camp for lunch and relaxation. In the late afternoon, experience a sunset boat safari on the Rufiji River, one of Nyerere’s most iconic highlights. Cruise past hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife as the sun sets over the river. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, choose between a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park or two separate game drives (morning and afternoon) with a return to camp for lunch and relaxation. Venture deeper into remote areas of Nyerere National Park, exploring floodplains, river channels, and open plains rarely reached on shorter safaris. This flexible day maximises your chances of encountering predators, large elephant herds, and diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. Return to camp in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart on a final game drive en route to Mtemere Airstrip, offering a last opportunity to spot wildlife in the early morning hours. On arrival, board your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar, marking the end of your Nyerere safari experience.
