These nostalgic vehicles are the primary means of transportation for Eidsbugarden’s residents during winter, providing a unique and authentic travel experience. During the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the stunning surroundings on a self-guided snowshoe walk and enjoy a delicious meal at the cozy local lodge, Fondsbu. Snowcoach transportation, snowshoe rental, and meal are all included in your experience.

Meeting point and time: Tyin at 13:30 (the snow coaches leave at 13:45). When you book your tour including a bus ticket from Bergen, Voss, Flåm, or Oslo, please ask for the meeting point and time.

Snowcoach (from Tyin to Eidsbugarden) Departure: 1:45 pm. Duration: about 45 minutes. Arrival: 2:30 pm. These charming snowcoaches are essential for the residents of Eidsbugarden, providing the only link to civilization during the harsh winter months. Our snowcoaches, each with a maximum capacity of 12 persons, operate daily on a fixed schedule between Tyin and Eidsbugarden, offering an approximately 45-minute journey through a mesmerizing winter wonderland.

Self-guided snowshoe walk Upon your arrival at Eidsbugarden, you’ll be provided with a pair of snowshoes to explore the beautiful surroundings at your own pace. Our friendly driver will give you a brief introduction on how to use the snowshoes and offer suggestions for the best routes to take. You can take a self-guided snowshoe walk and immerse yourself in the stunning winter landscape, enjoying the fresh air and tranquil silence.

Meal at Fondsbu lodge: We invite you to indulge in a delicious meal at the cozy local lodge, Fondsbu. It’s the only eatery in Eidsbugarden that perfectly complements the enchanting surroundings, enhancing the charm of your experience. The Fondsbu lodge offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, where we’ll serve you a scrumptious meal made with local ingredients. During your visit to Eidsbugarden, you’re welcome to enjoy the meal at a time that suits you best. You can choose between two enticing options: “Dagens middag med kaffe/te” (Today’s dinner with coffee/tea) or “Fondsburger” (Homemade burger).

Snowcoach (back to Tyin): Departure: 4:15 pm. Duration: about 45 minutes. Arrival: 5:00 pm. With rosy cheeks and fresh memories in mind, our snowcoaches will transport you back to civilization. The return snowcoach departs to Tyin at 4:15 PM (16:15). Please ensure punctuality to avoid missing the return trip.
