It covers the history of the plant's construction, as well as interesting facts about its operation and comparisons with other works. It has an audio guide and tourism monitors for questions and to complement the experience. Trilingual tour: Portuguese, English and Spanish. The Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant is a binational hydroelectric plant located on the Paraná River, on the border between Brazil and Paraguay. The dam was built by both countries between 1975 and 1982. The name Itaipu was taken from an island that existed near the construction site.
