During the Discovery Trip "The Missing portet of Pieter Teyler" you will explore the city of Haarlem during a 90-minute self-guided walking tour. In 90 minutes, you will see the most iconic places of Haarlem while solving fun puzzles about the environment. Do your best and set a new high score for the trip together with your friends or family. 
As Discovery Trips is self-guided, there are no fixed starting times. You can pick whenever you want to start discovering and pause at any time. 
In this trip, you'll need to find the missing portrait of Pieter Teyler. Mr. Teyler is a well-known resident of Haarlem. The Teylers Museum and the Teylers Hofje are built with his inheritance. Letters indicate that he has hidden a painting and left hints throughout the entire city. Can you find the painting?

The Discovery Trip ends in the middle of the great market in Haarlem. From there it is a short walk back to the train station of Haarlem
We start at the railway station in Haarlem. One of the older railway stations in the Netherlands
We will see across the water the Molen De Adriaan that is beautifully lightend in the evening.
You will walk past one of the most beautifull hofjes in Haarlem which you can enter provided that you keep peacefully as people live in the hofje.
You will walk past one of the biggest museum that you can find in Haarlem. THe museum is created by Pieter Teyler, an important figure in Haarlem and our story. Later you could go back to visit the museum in earnest. Note that admission into the museum is not needed for playing the Discovery Trip and is also not included.
You will walk past the old Waag of Haarlem. This was the place where people would weigh their goods for the market and pay their taxes on these goods.
You will stop at the Frans Hals museum to solve one of the puzzles. This museam is dedicated to Frans Hals, a dutch painter that lived in Haarlem. Later you could go back to visit the museum. Note that admission into the museum is not needed for playing the Discovery Trip and is also not included.
Thee Vleeshal used to be the place where the people of Haarlem bought their meat. Now, it is an exposition centre which holds a crucial piece of information to solve the game. Feel free to visit the exposition centre after you finished the game if it seems intresting to you. Note that admission into the exposition centre is not needed for playing the Discovery Trip and is also not included.
During the Trip you will visit the Church of St. Bavo which is one of the biggest and oldest churches in Haarlem in the middle of the Grote Markt. Note that entering the church is not needed for playing the Discovery Trip and is also not included. But feel free to do so on your own accoord.
The Trip will end at the Grote Markt in the middle of the city centre.
