We start with the pick-up at your accommodation, following towards Pico do Areeiro, where we will have the opportunity to watch the sun rise over the mountains of Madeira, if the weather allows.
Then we begin the walk along one of the island’s most iconic trails, crossing deep valleys, sharp peaks and the imposing central mountainous massive, always accompanied by stunning views. Along the way, the island’s fauna, endemic flora and history will always be present, making this experience even richer and more authentic.
The great goal will be to reach the peak of Pico Ruivo, the highest point of Madeira, a conquest rewarded by absolutely unique panoramas. Down to the Achada do Teixeira and a short stop in the Villa de Santana, known for its traditional houses, followed by the return to the hotel.
The walk will be Guide by me, Paulo Jesus, born and resident on the island of Madeira, mountain guide certified by Tourism of Portugal.

Meeting and pickup
Pick-up and drop-off ; (Calheta, Ponta do Sol, Ribeira Brava, Câmara de Lobos, Funchal, Caniço, Machico, Santana, São Vicente, Porto Moniz), starts at 06:00 am but may be changed due to distance.
What to expect
Sunrise at Pico do Areeiro with walking to Pico Ruivo (7 km) afterwards we will go down to the Achada do Teixeira are 2.5 km.
Stop in Santana to see the traditional houses and return to your accommodation.
I inform you that walking about 10 km is difficult due to its unlevel and the number of steps and requires physical condition.
The Beginning with observation of sunrise at Pico do Areeiro (it is optional if you prefer we can start later without sunrise).
Group of 1 to 4 people.

Transportation, Insurance, Tourism License of Portugal 467/22 and Mountain Guide Certificate.
It usually starts at 06:00 am, if the option is to just take the walk without sunrise you can choose: 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am or after lunch 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm.
Comfortable clothes and warm, it is normal to be less than 10 degrees than in the city of Funchal, walking shoes, water (minimum 1 liter), some food and sunscreen.
