Under the expansive sky of the Tabernas Desert, a unique stargazing experience awaits. Guided by a certified astronomy expert, participants will explore the night sky through a powerful 305 mm telescope and an smart Telescope, identifying constellations and learning about celestial bodies. Discover the mythology behind legendary figures like Hercules and Andromeda, while gaining insights into the cosmos and our place within it. This two-hour journey not only offers a chance to observe planets and distant stars but also includes a memorable group photo against a stunning celestial backdrop, capturing the essence of this extraordinary night.
The meeting point is an esplanade where you can leave your car which can be reached via the small road that runs alongside the Oasys Miniholliwood facilities. Our guide will be waiting for you with a red light. From there, we will walk together to the observation point (5 min).
Bypassing MiniHollywood (or Driving past MiniHollywood), we'll arrive at the designated esplanade marked by the red pin. Welcome and Introduction Welcome to your meeting point! Our friendly guide will be waiting to greet you, easily recognizable by their soft red light. This light is specially chosen to preserve your night vision as we begin our adventure. We'll start with a brief introduction to the magical world of stargazing. You'll learn about the area's incredibly dark skies, which make it a premier location for viewing the cosmos. But the stars aren't the only legends here. We'll also share the captivating story of the Western movies filmed in these very surroundings.
Walk to the Viewing Point From the meeting point, we will walk for 5 minutes. During this short walk, your guide will provide a brief explanation about the Sierra Alhamilla Natural Area until we reach our observation point.

You will learn to identify the main constellations visible on the night of your visit. If the Moon is out, you'll be able to observe its craters in detail and understand how they formed over time. The activity also includes the principles of positional astronomy, which will teach you how to orient yourself in the night sky. Through the telescope, you will explore deep-sky objects such as open clusters, globular clusters, and binary stars.
