Start exciting 3-day, 2-night safari to Mikumi National Park from Zanzibar, combining ferry and SGR train travel for a scenic and comfortable journey. On Day 1, take the morning fast ferry from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, then board the SGR train for a relaxing ride toward Morogoro. After a lunch stop at Doma village, continue by road to Mikumi, visiting a traditional Maasai Boma before checking into your lodge.

Day 2 features a full-day game drive in Mikumi, where you'll spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and more in their natural habitat. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue exploring before returning to the lodge for overnight.

    Day 1

    Traveling from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park Via Dar es salaam (using ferry, SGR railway and car)

    Your adventure begins early in the morning with a hotel pick-up in Zanzibar at 05:00 AM. You’ll be transferred to the Zanzibar Ferry Terminal to catch the Azam Fast Ferry or Zan Fast Ferry, departing at 07:00 AM to Dar es Salaam. After a scenic 2-hour ferry ride across the Indian Ocean, you’ll arrive in Dar es Salaam around 09:00 AM. From there, your journey continues by SGR train, heading towards Mikumi National Park. The train ride takes approximately 2 hours, offering a comfortable route through Tanzania's countryside. Around 11:15 AM to 11:30 AM, you’ll stop for a relaxing lunch break in Doma Village, where you’ll enjoy a local meal . After lunch, the journey continues by road for about 1 hour to Mikumi Village. In the afternoon, you’ll visit a traditional Maasai Boma, where you’ll have a unique opportunity to experience the culture, customs, and daily life of the Maasai people. Once the visit concludes, you'll head to your lodge, where you can enjoy dinner, and rest for the night

    After an early breakfast, we’ll depart the lodge at 06:00 AM for a thrilling full-day game drive in the heart of Mikumi National Park. This is your chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife in their natural habitat—including elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, wildebeest and more—against the stunning backdrop of the open savannah. Around 12:30 PM, we’ll take a break to enjoy lunch in a designated picnic area within the park, surrounded by nature. After lunch, we’ll continue with a shorter afternoon game drive to catch any wildlife we may have missed in the morning. As the day winds down, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner and overnight rest, with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s wild beauty.

    Return journey, Back to the Island from Mikumi to Zanzibar via Dar es salaam

    After an early morning breakfast, we will depart from your Mikumi lodge at 06:00 AM, beginning our journey back to Zanzibar. Enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive through the Tanzanian countryside as we head towards Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, we’ll proceed directly to the ferry terminal, where you'll have some time to relax before boarding. At 2:00 PM, you’ll board the Azam Fast Ferry or Zan Fast Ferry for a comfortable and smooth ride back to Zanzibar. Arrival in Zanzibar marks the end of your incredible journey—filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and scenic landscapes.
