First, we will see Zrinjevac Park, a charming green space in the heart of the city, surrounded by beautiful 19th-century architecture.
Next, we head to Ban Josip Jelacic Square, the vibrant heart of Zagreb, where locals and tourists gather. The square is named after the Croatian Ban (governor), and it’s surrounded by stunning architecture making it the perfect spot to soak in the city’s energy.
We will then visit the Cathedral of Zagreb, a stunning example of Gothic architecture, with its impressive spires and rich history dating back to the 11th century.
Our next stop is Dolac Market, Zagreb’s most famous open-air market. Here, you’ll find an array of fresh local produce, handmade goods, and authentic Croatian specialties, all set against the backdrop of the colorful market stalls and the buzzing atmosphere.
Next, we’ll visit Tkalčićeva Street, one of the most vibrant and picturesque streets in Zagreb. Known for its bustling cafes, and lively atmosphere, this charming pedestrian street is perfect for a leisurely walk and a taste of Zagreb’s social scene.
Moving on, we will visit The Stone Gates, a 13th-century medieval gateway that serves as a spiritual landmark, with a shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
Next, we will explore St. Mark’s Church, famous for its colorful tiled roof, symbolizing the historical regions of Croatia.
Next, we’ll pass by Lotrščak Tower, a historic landmark that once served as a defense tower. Known for its cannon that still fires every day at noon.
After that, we’ll see the Zagreb Funicular, one of the shortest funiculars in the world (currently closed for construction)
Lastly, we’ll visit Tunel Grič, a hidden underground tunnel that once served as a wartime shelter, now a fascinating historical and cultural site to explore.
