    Cradle Mountain

The journey to Cradle takes us through the beautiful landscape . In 1910, Gustav Weindorfer declared that this should become a National Park accessible to everyone for all eternity. Today, it stands as one of Australia's renowned national parks, safeguarding a majestic glacial terrain and the remarkable plant and animal life it harbors. The rugged outlines of Cradle Mountain encircle the frigid Dove Lake, creating a striking panorama that you can appreciate as you wander along the lake's shores. This dolerite summit stands out as one of the park's natural wonders, though the unpredictable weather of Tasmania's highlands frequently veils the mountain in mist.

Again traveling out of the park, but before we leave we will stop off and take another short walk along the enchanted walkway, here we hope to not only take in the Flora of the area but also follow Pencil Pine Creek and visit the water fall. Fingers crossed we may get to see wallabies or may be a wombat . At the end of this walk will make time to stop for lunch before returning to the visitor center and the journey back to Devonport.
