Namobuddha, also spelled as Namo Buddha, is a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site located in Kavrepalanchowk District. The site holds deep religious importance for Buddhists and attracts both pilgrims and tourists for its serene and spiritual ambiance. As the legend goes, the main attraction of Namobuddha is the stupa and shrine that stand at the spot where, according to Buddhist tradition, Prince Siddhartha (the future Buddha) encountered a starving tigress and her cubs. Moved by compassion, he offered his own body to the tigress as food, symbolizing the ultimate act of selflessness. This compassionate act is considered a significant event in Buddhist folklore.
