Your journey begins with a comfortable transfer from Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo International Airport. Travel northwest through South Africa’s picturesque countryside until you reach Ivory Tree Game Lodge, located in the northeastern region of Pilanesberg National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by the friendly staff and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch in the main dining area. In the afternoon, you’ll head out on your first open-vehicle game drive, led by experienced rangers and trackers. Pilanesberg is home to a rich variety of wildlife including lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, as well as giraffes, zebras, hippos, and an incredible array of birds. After the drive, return to the lodge to freshen up before a gourmet dinner is served in the restaurant or outdoor boma. Dine under the African sky and listen to the night sounds of the bush.

Day 2
Full-Day Safari Experience in Pilanesberg

Begin the day with an early morning wake-up call, followed by coffee before setting out on your sunrise game drive. This is one of the most active times for animal sightings, with predators and prey both on the move in the cool morning air. After the drive, return to the lodge for a full buffet breakfast featuring both hot and cold options. The late morning and early afternoon are yours to enjoy the lodge’s tranquil setting. Lunch is served at the lodge and includes a variety of freshly made dishes to suit every taste. In the late afternoon, you'll venture out again on a second game drive, timed to catch the dramatic lighting and heightened wildlife activity of the early evening. Return just after sunset to enjoy dinner, followed by time around the campfire, where you can exchange stories or simply take in the peaceful bush atmosphere under a canopy of stars.

Take in your last views of the surrounding Pilanesberg terrain before beginning the return journey to Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo Airport.
