    Pingvellir National Park

Thingvellir is the biggest national park in Iceland with many historic and geological interests. You will see where the Eurasian plate meets the North American plate (continents meet) and learn about the history that took place in Thingvellir. Then we will drive about 40 minutes to our next stop Geysir geothermal area

    Geysir

We’ll walk around the geothermal area where the world famous geyers, Geysir and Strokkur live. As you might have noticed, all geysers draw their name from Geysir, the first geyser to be documented in Europe. Geysir can sometimes be a bit moody about erupting but his little brother, Strokkur, will definitely put on a show for you. Then we will drive about 10 minutes to Gullfoss waterfall

    Gullfoss

Gullfoss waterfall is the largest waterfall in Europe by volume. It’s possible to see it from a distance up high but also to walk up close for that picture of a lifetime. Then we will drive for about about 90 minutes to Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

    Seljalandsfoss

Seljalandsfoss originates from a large glacier but has a fairly narrow cascade. Even so, on a sunny day the falling water catches the light beautifully and in the winter, the icicles all around are a sight to see. The best part? You can walk around the whole waterfall, underneath the cliffs from which the waterfall cascades. Then we will drive for about 30 minutes to Skógafoss waterfall

    Skogafoss

Skógafoss is a 60 meter (200ft) waterfall situated right next to the highway. It empties into a river of the same name, where char and salmon can be fished for in the summer. It’s possible to walk right up to the booming waterfall, as long as you don’t mind getting a bit wet. An alternative is walking up a staircase to gaze at the waterfall from above, keeping an eye out for some local birds while you’re at it. Then we will drive for about 30 minutes to Black sand beach.

    Vikurfjara Black Sand Beach

Stretching out from Dyrhólaey peninsula is the world famous black-sand beach. Of note are the rocky sea stacks sitting off the shoreline, presumed to have once been trolls that turned to stone. The vibrant array of birds can also be found here, nestling in the cliffs along the beach and flying out to the ocean for a snack. The beautiful roaring waves of the beach have tempted many to get close, so look out for the sneaker waves as fatal accidents have occurred here. Then we will drive back to Reykjavik (2 and a half hour)
