3 day individual camel trekking tour in the Sahara

We offer sustainable travel without mass tourism with local guides who know the area.

Our team consists of nomads and semi-nomads with years of experience.

Because we can customize our tours, they are suitable for solo travelers as well as families (children ages 5 and up) or larger groups.

We can also adapt to the respective level of fitness and plan the length of the hike optimally.

We respond to individual requests and can plan additional sights if you are interested.
(Ex.: ancient kasbahs, souks, social projects, local nomad school and much more.)

Do you need help getting there? Thanks to our many years of experience, we can also assist you with this and with additional overnight stays.

Itinerary

Duration: 3 days (approximately)
    Day 1

    Sahara camel trekking

    1 stop
  • 1
    Zagora

Day 1: We start in Zagora and drive to the land of the Ait Atta tribe. If you wish we can stop along the way to see local farms, their plants, animals and activities. After about 1 1/2 hours of driving we reach the Lgtara mountains. Then we pack our luggage onto our camels that are waiting for us there and hike with our little caravan to a pretty oasis to have lunch together. We then climb Alaawej Mountain and can enjoy breathtaking views of oases and the Sahara sand dunes.

  • Day 2

The dunes of the "Erg Hnnina"

    1 stop
  • 2
    Sahara Desert

After breakfast together, we hike in the mountains and the rocky desert and we are happy to show and explain interesting facts about nature. We pass a nomadic family living there and can drink freshly made tea with them in their tent. Find out how the Amazigh nomads live their everyday lives there. Afterwards we will look for a nice shady tamarisk tree to have lunch there. Our last stage takes us to the dunes “Erg Hnnina” where we will set up camp for the night.

  • Day 3

Hnnina River and return journey to Zagora

    1 stop
  • 3
    Sahara Desert

After a nice breakfast we hike and ride through the dunes to the Hnnina River. Here, too, we show and explain interesting facts about the amazing flora and fauna. After a final lunch together, we will be picked up there by our four-wheel jeep. We can either drive back to Zagora via M'hamid (the last village before the Algerian border) or the nomad path "Lfhamia". Afterwards you can enjoy a hot shower in a riad/hotel where you will spend your last night in Zagora.
