What to expect

Activity that involves descending Ribeira da Pena (Góis), jumping into the water, tobogganing, climbing, rappelling and crossing through the water. This stream runs through a steep and steep valley, whose bed, banks and slopes are formed by impressive cliffs that make this place almost inaccessible. This is the most spectacular river in the Central Region, formed by countless waterfalls, lagoons and imposing rocks. During canyoning, the following material is provided by the organization: neoprene suit, neoprene socks, personal protective equipment (helmet, harness, descender), own backpacks, bags and watertight drums. This canyoning has an initial rappel of 35 meters to enter the river (optional – the organization decides whether it will take place depending on the group and weather conditions). There are around a dozen optional jumps of various heights. The entire progression is carried out along the course of the river (outside or in the water), using climbing and jumping from stone to stone. At the end it is necessary to walk for around 30 minutes to reach the village of Ribeira Cimeira. Recommended seasons: spring, summer and autumn (April to October).
