A fantastic trek to access a 360° viewpoint, through a picturesque, little-traveled trail in the national park. Accompanied by a mountain guide, you will appreciate the valleys of Cerro Fitz Roy and Torre, the Patagonian steppe and the vast Lake Viedma. An unforgettable Patagonian postcard view!
If you’re a hiking lover, you don’t want to miss this dream of a destination; this is your tour! No steep climbing is involved, and no previous experience is required!
You will meet your guide at 8 - 9 a.m. at our office and start hiking. We will provide the exact meeting time & address on your booking confirmation.
Departing from our office in El Chaltén we will head towards Toro Lagoon trail.
After about 1-hour of hiking in ascent crossing small streams and some ñires and lengas woods, we arrive at an exposed area with a picture postcard view of Mount Fitz Roy, Torre and Huemul. We continue the hike across the Pampas, locally called “Pampa de las Carretas” and then into the woods. Then, we will pass across an alpine terrain, where you may see delicate flowers. In this section it is quite possible to find the remains of MARINE FOSSILS such as ammonites and belemnites which are about 100 million years old. In this last section we may also experience the Patagonian wind or snow, even in the summer! You will finally arrive at our target – nearly 1500 masl. This spot offers an unconventional and unique view of Torre and Fitz Roy massifs. Once there, relax! Take some time off to have rest and lunch.
After enjoying lunch with an unforgettable view, we start our return hike to El Chaltén.
