Found within the Atacama Salt Flats is the Cejar Lagoon. This body of water is a saltwater swimming pool where you can float until your troubles fade away. Visit the Salar Eyes, which are two freshwater round-shaped lagoons in the middle of one of the world’s driest deserts and the impressive Tebinquinche Lagoon.
Find yourself astonished as you take in the views of the variety of shades on the surrounding hills of Rainbow Valley: earth, red, brown, green, white and yellow colors, which combined with the white salts and the blue sky, make up a unique place.

    Upon arrival at the Calama Airport ‘El Loa’ we will be waiting for you to travel for about 1 hour to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama (shared service).

    San Pedro de Atacama

    In this village situated on a plateau between the mountains (at 2500 m.a.s.l.), adobe houses painted white, small restaurants in dirt streets adorned with lanterns, and snow-capped peaks watch over the village in the distance. Enjoy your first afternoon at leisure in San Pedro de Atacama. Sugerences: Stroll through the handicraft market to see the exquisite ceramic pieces, a speciality of the Atacameños.

    Half-Day morning tour to Tatio Geysers & Machuca and Half-Day Laguna Cejar & Tebinquinche

    Geyser del Tatio

    After an early morning pick-up at your hotel (shared service), experience one of the most astonishing phenomena produced by nature! Visit the beautiful geothermal field (entrance fee not included), a manifestation of the inner heat of the Earth and take the most amazing photographs walking across the trails. At dawn, with temperatures below zero, an impressive show may be appreciated, generated by the violent steam flows that rise up to 10 Mts. Enjoy and take the best pictures! Soon after that, you will enjoy a picnic-style breakfast. On your scenic drive back to San Pedro, you will pass by Machuca village and admire the wildlife on Putana River bofedal (wetlands).**It is not advisable to eat anything until you reach the Geysers.

    You will be dropped off at noon at San Pedro de Atacama and have some time at leisure to have lunch or just relax. After meeting with your group, you will go on a drive to Laguna Cejar (shared service).

    Laguna Cejar

    After going to the meeting point, you will head to Laguna Cejar, which is located in the northern sector of the Salar de Atacama. You will appreciate its waters of deep emerald, rimmed of salt crystals… To further add to your experience, you will be able to swim and enjoy the gravitational effect of the water produced by the high amounts of salt: Your body easily floats, producing a great relaxation. Next up, you’ll visit the Salar Eyes, two round shaped lagoons, with less concentration of salt and where small reeds and algae grow on their banks. To further add to your adventure, you reach Tebinquinche Lagoon: Its waters are dependent on snowmelt and rainfall of the year and, in summer you can observe how water evaporation forms a white mantle of salt. Here you can take a walk and see some flamingos and other birds in small quantities.
