Experience the magic of the Arctic summer on a small-group Midnight Sun hike just outside Tromsø. This guided hike takes you away from the busy areas and into peaceful mountain landscapes where the sun never sets. With a maximum of eight guests, the experience feels personal and relaxed while your local guide shares insights about Arctic nature, wildlife, and life in Northern Norway.
Along the way you’ll enjoy scenic viewpoints, photo stops, and local Arctic snacks while surrounded by fjords and mountains glowing in the golden light of the midnight sun. This is a unique opportunity to explore Tromsø’s nature in a calm and authentic way, guided by locals who know the area as their own backyard.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Meet your guide at Prostneset Bus and Ferry Terminal in Tromsø city center. Your guide will greet you there before departure to the hiking area outside the city. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. The exact meeting point will be confirmed after booking.
What to expect
At the trailhead, your guide gives a short introduction and safety briefing before the hike begins.
You will then start a guided mountain hike under the Midnight Sun, following scenic trails through the Arctic landscape. The route is selected based on weather conditions and the group’s fitness level.
During the hike, your guide shares stories about local nature, wildlife, and life in Northern Norway, with several scenic stops for photos and to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
You will pause at a beautiful viewpoint to enjoy local Arctic snacks and drinks while taking in views of the fjords and mountains glowing in the midnight light.
After the break, you continue the hike back to the starting point before driving back to Tromsø city center.
The total experience lasts approximately 3.5 hours, including transport, hiking, and breaks.
