Discover the Arctic mountains just outside Tromsø on a relaxed, small-group hiking experience designed to feel personal and flexible. Unlike larger tours, this hike focuses on exploring quiet mountain areas where you can truly enjoy the scenery, wide fjord views, and peaceful Arctic landscapes. Along the way, your guide shares stories about local nature, wildlife, and everyday life in Northern Norway.
During the hike, you will also enjoy local snacks and drinks from the Tromsø region, adding a small taste of the Arctic to the experience. It’s a perfect way to discover Tromsø’s mountains in a calm and authentic way — guided by locals who know the area as their own backyard!
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Please meet your guide at Prostneset Bus and Ferry Terminal in Tromsø city center. Your guide will greet you there before departure and drive you to the hiking area outside the city. Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure a smooth start to the experience.
What to expect
After about 15–20 minutes, the urban landscape fades away and you arrive at the trailhead surrounded by Arctic mountains, fjords, and open valleys. Your guide will introduce the route and conditions before the hike begins.
You will then start a guided mountain hike through the Arctic landscape, following scenic trails chosen based on weather conditions and the group’s fitness level. The pace is relaxed, allowing time to enjoy the views and take photos.
Along the way, your guide will share stories about Arctic nature, wildlife, local traditions, and life in Northern Norway. You will pass viewpoints overlooking fjords and mountains while experiencing the peaceful Arctic wilderness.
During the hike, you will stop at a scenic spot to enjoy local snacks and drinks from the Tromsø region.
After the break, you continue along the trail before returning to the starting point and driving back to Tromsø city center.
The total experience lasts approximately 3.5 hours, including transport, hiking, and breaks.
