This is more than sightseeing—you will become part of an authentic Japanese ceremony.

- Write your wish in Japanese (with support)

Itinerary

Duration: 1 hour (approximately)

    You will write your own prayer or wish in Japanese. Your host will provide translations and sample examples to help you. Your written wish will be read aloud by a Shinto priest during the ceremony. Next, you will submit your application form and prayer offering to a shrine maiden. Your host will assist you, but we encourage you to complete the process yourself as much as possible. You will then take part in the prayer ceremony. During the ceremony, you will witness Gagaku, Japanese court music recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, and a Miko dance performed by shrine maidens in beautiful traditional attire. The ceremony lasts approximately 20 minutes. After the ceremony, you will receive a sacred prayer talisman and enjoy ceremonial sacred sake served by a shrine maiden. Following the ritual, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and take commemorative photos outside the Kaguraden Hall.
