A private tour with a memorable and varied itinerary that transports you from Glasgow to the shores of Loch Lomond then on to the epic wilderness of Rannoch Moor and Glencoe in the heart of the West Highlands. There are plenty of stops, pretty villages, panoramic viewpoints and castles set in dramatic locations. Between stops enjoy the passing magnificent scenery from your minibus with commentary from your driver. This tour is for your personal group with a maximum of seven passengers.

    Luss

    This tour for you and your personal group is fully flexible, you can suggest adjustments and changes to the tour itinerary, even on the day. If time and geography allow, your driver will strive to meet your requests. 40 minutes after leaving Glasgow our first stop is this very pretty village on the western shore of Loch Lomond. Walk past the sandstone and slate cottages to the pier with it's wonderful views across to Ben Lomond and expansive loch views. Luss Graveyard has graves dating back to 600AD/ 700AD, there is also a Viking grave from 1250AD, complete with a Viking Hogback Stone.

    Loch Tulla Viewpoint

    A 58 minute drive north from Luss has you traveling deeper into the Highlands, passing through increasingly dramatic landscape before arriving in Tyndrum, a noted stop with toilets and a shop before the wilderness of Rannoch Moor. We stop on the edge of Rannoch Moor with a truly epic panorama and a place to begin appreciating the scale of the empty landscape.

    Rannoch Moor

    One of the last wilderness areas in Europe, a vast area of bogs, small lochs (called Lochans), streams and rock outcrops. There are several stopping places where you can soak in the spectacle of this area.

  • Glencoe (Pass by)

    After a 25 minute drive across Rannoch Moor into Glencoe, stopping for photographs or to simply take in the vast landscape. We can stop at the Kingshouse Hotel sitting at the top of Glencoe Valley, enjoy a coffee and snack inside the old droving inn, otherwise we can carry on down to sea level stopping at the Glencoe visitor centre on our way before starting our coastal drive to Oban.

    Oban

    A stunning 66 minute drive from Glencoe to the very pretty and bustling port of Oban. On the way we can enjoy the magnificent and unspoiled coastline of Loch Linnhe, spot Stalker Castle and the Falls of Lora. In Oban, you can enjoy seafood cooked in the open air, do some shopping for souvenirs, have a coffee and enjoy this port gateway to Scottish Islands, such as Barra, Mull and The Outer Hebrides

    Kilchurn Castle

    A 37 minute drive inland towards Inverary and another sight to behold. Kilchurn Castle, built around 1450, this long abandoned castle is still very impressive, and its setting at the top of Loch Awe with a backdrop of Highland splendour is magnificent.

    Inveraray

    Arriving in Inveraray, just 20 minutes after leaving Kilchurn Castle it's time to enjoy this picture perfect village at the top of Loch Fyne with the beautiful Inveraray Castle and Gardens. A 60 minute stop to soak up the atmosphere and calm of a highland village. Entry to the castle and gardens requires entry fee, (closed Tue & Wed). There is the wonderful Loch Fyne Oyster Bar just 12 minutes drive from Inverary, with a Deli and a take-away with a sitting area outside. You can adjust your time in Inverary, if you want to visit.

    Rest and be Thankful

    20 minutes from Inveraray and another magnificent viewpoint with beautiful views where you can see the old valley road down on the valley floor, winding up to our viewpoint. The old road was built 272 years ago following the Jacobite rebellion. We then drop down to the head of Loch Long and make our way across to Loch Lomond again, then back to Glasgow, a 60 minute journey.
